Albums

Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed, members of the band did session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.

The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked an abrupt departure from the progressive sound of their earlier albums and was criticized for its absence of hit singles. In 1985, the group's lead singer Fergie Fredericksen left The band held auditions to choose a new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by re-discovering old tapes and demos to release a special edition called Toto XX. The album was a hit by fans and the band embarked on a tour that featured former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar departed from the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings as well as an interview with the group.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has also released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the band is "Africa" which has more than one billion views. The video is set in a library, with the band performing on top of the stack of African books.

The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and produced David Paich. It was a huge hit in Europe and many other countries. Toto is famous for their popular song "Africa", recently joined forces to promote their upcoming album, All In. The album, which was released on November 6, 2018, included three new tracks from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun as well as a complete recording of four previously released tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album also featured an original cover version of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" that the band added after hearing it on the radio.
